Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me,
bless his holy name. (Psalm 103:1)
WE BLESS AND PRAISE GOD WITH OUR SOUL AND ALL THAT IS WITH US...
WE BLESS HIS HOLY NAME- "HASHEM" BLESSED IS HE, FOREVER AND EVER. AMEN
Barakhi nafshi et-Adonai,
v'khol-keravai et-shem kodsho.
THE PRINCIPLE IN psal, 103:1 IS THAT WE DO OUR PRAYER AND BLESSINGS
AND PRAISE TO GOD WITH OUR ALL... WITH NOTHING TO HOLD BACK...
IN THAT ATTITUDE, ONLY WITH THAT, WILL GOD LISTEN TO US.
THE WORDS:
BARUKH- BLESSED
BEREKH- KNEE
B'RAKHA- BLESSING
ARE SIMILAR TO EACH OTHER IMPLYING THAT WE MUST HUMBLE OURSELVES
BEFORE GOD... AND SUCH ATTITUDE IS NECESSARY TO RECEIVE BLESSINGS FROM
GOD......
SUCH ATTITUDE WOULD MERIT WHAT IS WRITTEN IN
EPHESIANS 1:3 IF GOD WILLS IT:
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath
blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Messiah
Jesus" (Eph.1:3)
IT IS ALSO WRITTEN, THAT IN RECEIVING BLESSINGS, WE MUST ALSO BE A
BLESSING TO OTHERS:
"Freely you have received, freely give," ( Matthew 10:8)
WHEN WE ARE BLESSED BY GOD, WE HAVE THE RESPONSIBILITY TO GIVE A
PORTION OF THAT BLESSING BACK TO THOSE WHO ARE IN NEED FOR SUCH
BLESSINGS...
FOR IT IS WRITTEN:
1) 1 Timothy 6:18 "Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds,
and to be generous and willing to share."
2) Psalm 41:1 "Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the LORD
delivers him in times of trouble."
3) Proverbs 19:17 "He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and
he will reward him for what he has done."
4) Proverbs 22:9 "A generous man will himself be blessed, for he
shares his food with the poor."
IN RELATION TO THIS, WE MUST NOT MISTREAT THE POOR...
FOR IT IS WRITTEN:
1) Proverbs 14:31 "He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their
Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God."
2) Ezekiel 16:49 "Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and
her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not
help the poor and needy."
ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE POOR
1)Leviticus 19:15 "Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to
the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly."
2)Proverbs 29:7 "The righteous care about justice for the poor, but
the wicked have no such concern."
3)Matthew 6:2-4 " So when you give to the needy, do not announce it
with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the
streets, to be honored by men.
I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.
But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what
your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then
your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."
HOPE THAT THE MEDITATION FOR THE DAY WOULD HELP US IN DOING THE WILL
OF GOD. WHENEVER WE PRAY, AND RECEIVE BLESSINGS, BE MINFUL OF THE POOR...
AS WE LOVE GOD FIRST WITH ALL OUR SOUL, WITH ALL OUR HEARTS, WITH ALL
OUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL THAT IS WITHIN US...
WE MUST ALSO BE MINDFUL OF THE SECOND MOST IMPORTANT COMMANDMENT: LOVE
YOUR NEIGHBOR AS OURSELVES... .
GOD BLESS EVERYONE WHO HAS READ THIS MESSAGE...
